Our WSL Pirates will undoubtedly welcome this well earned break, after backing up last Friday’s Statewide Cup Quarter Final game with a mid-week match against South Hobart. They braved the blistering cold on Friday night against Metro FC, but were lucky to catch a break in the pouring rain - which left the pitch at North Chigwell in a surprisingly pristine condition. The game saw Daisy Parsell open the scoring, with Holly-Lace Ayton firing away two long-range cannonballs shortly afterwards. The second half saw Sarah Townsend putting away a neat little cross across the goalmouth to tally the final score at 4-1. Our Senior Women’s team has now drawn Launceston United for a home game over the weekend of the 28th/29th in the Semi Finals. Our Pirates had a tougher battle on Wednesday night, however, taking on South Hobart in a delayed Round 3 Super League match (0-5).
Our Men’s Championship and Champ 1 teams will be looking to pick up where they left off a couple of weeks back, when they absolutely dominated their Kingborough Lions opponents. This Saturday they’ll be taking on the Clarence Zebras at home, so come along to Kelvedon and cheer our Pirates on!
Sunday sees our Men’s Championship 3 team up at Olinda Grove taking on University Dynamo, while our Women’s Championship 1 team are at Kelvedon taking on University as well. Over at the Den our Women’s Championship team will be tackling the Lions, while our WSL team has the weekend off due to another postponed game.
