Match Centre

Last weekend saw our Men’s Championship team with a solid win over the Clarence Zebras. Fergus Bridge put on an exceptional performance, scoring 4 goals, with Oliver Maxwell also adding to the scoresheet to round off the 5-0 victory. They now look to take on University SC at Olinda Grove and, if victorious in Saturday’s match, will leapfrog the Uni Bees on the ladder. Our Men’s Championship 1 team were unlucky in their 0-1 loss to the Zebbies last weekend and, likewise, are taking on the Bees this Saturday. They may have a slightly tougher opponent in the ladder leaders, however they’ve been showing fine form of late with Henry Ralph averaging a goal per game this season, making this weekend’s match-up an exciting prospect.

Our Men’s Championship 3 team engaged in a super close match against University Dynamo on Sunday, with Kaspar Deane’s goal keeping our Pirates level with the opposition at half time. Unfortunately a penalty conceded in the second half saw the score sway and stay in favour of the Bees. Wednesday’s U18s mid-week match against Southern FC saw our young lads nab their second win of the season (6-2), with Joshua King contributing a hat trick, Otto Newstead a brace, and Cooper Bain picking up a goal as well as a slice of cheese.

Our WSL team has a bye this weekend and will be spending the next week gearing up for their home game match against Launceston United in the Statewide Cup Semi Finals. Meanwhile, our Women’s Championship team suffered a 0-4 loss to the Kingborough Lions last Sunday, while our Women’s Championship 1 team also had a 0-4 loss to University S.C.

Best of luck to all our teams this weekend. Sunday is a great day for games at home so make sure to head down to Kelvie to support our Pirates!
