Our Men’s Championship 3 team were the only senior victors this weekend, with Alexander Edwards and Kaspar Deane both scoring in the first half to consolidate the team’s 2-1 win over DOSA. Our Men’s Championship 1 team suffered a tough defeat against University SC at Olinda Grove last Saturday, with Toby Dove and David Abbott each scoring goals, but unable to prevent the 2-4 loss. The Men’s Championship game looked more promising after the team managed a bit of a comeback in the second half, thanks to goals by Fergus Bridge, Charlie Howcroft, and Samuel James. However a late goal by University saw the final score tied at 3-3.

Our Women’s Championship 1 team looked even with their opposition at half time, thanks to a brace by Holly Mayo in the first half. However the Pirates couldn’t tip the score over to their favour in the remaining 45, with the Glenorchy Knights ultimately winning the game 2-5. Our Women’s Championship team had a similar outcome, with the half time score looking even at 1-1, but a barrage of Newtown Eagles goals in the second half saw the game ending 1-6.

While most of our senior teams now take a break this weekend, our Senior Women’s squad will be taking on Launceston United in the Statewide Cup Semi Finals at home on Saturday. With our WSL Development Squad playing prior to the main event, this will be a great day to coma and support your Pirates at Kelvedon. Best of luck to all our teams this week!
