We had an unusually quiet weekend on the senior games front, with our WSL Pirates claiming their Round 13 victory against Olympia earlier in the week and our Men’s Champ and Champ 1 games against South Hobart, as well as our Social teams’ games on Sunday, being postponed due to bad weather and ground closures.
Our U18’s recorded a dominant win over the Clarence Zebras at Wentworth Park on Saturday, continuing their fine form. Goals from Pat Harnwell, Ky Fieldhouse, and Connor Vervaart, as well as a brace from Joshua King, tallied the 5-1 win in a game that our young Pirates dominated from start to finish. They now have a break in games during the school holidays. Also at Wentworth Park on Sunday, our Women’s Championship team took on Clarence Zebras, however they couldn’t snag a win. After a better-fought second half our Pirates went down 0-6.
This weekend sees a crucial clash for our WSL team being played out at Kelvie as they take on our local opponents, Kingborough Lions. A win will see them jump a position higher on the WSL ladder. Wishing the best of luck to all our teams playing this weekend, and hoping we can attract a great crowd for our home games. The Kelvedon Kiosk will be open for all your game-side needs, including hot drinks, fresh coffee, Banjo’s pies and toasties, as well as Taroona FC scarves and beanies.
