Our Social Women’s team were out at Risdon Vale on Sunday morning, taking on Nelson Eastern Suburbs FC. While the opposition nabbed the first goal, our Pirates responded with three strikes and were leading the game 3-1 heading into the second half. Unfortunately the game was ultimately tied 3-3 but it was the best result from our Women’s side this season, and was a game played in fantastic spirit. The Social Men’s team were located at Cosgrove High School where they battled it out against Hobart United FC. In another tight game with plenty of goals, our Pirates came out victors, winning the game 3-2. Well done Pirates!

Over at Darcy Street, our WSL Pirates took on the current League leaders, South Hobart FC. It was a fantastic day away for the Community Round to wrap up Female Football Week, with Charlotte and Zailee from Shredding for CFT working (skating) hard to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis Tasmania. Our Junior and Youth SKiLLS kids also came along to walk out with our seniors, take part in half-time games, and provided the best cheer squad we could ask for. The game did not go our Pirates’ way, however they made the opposition fight extra hard for each goal. The 0-2 loss was disappointing, but also showcased our WSL Pirates’ ability to compete with the top teams, and they look forward to travelling to Devonport tomorrow morning to see if they can get a better result against the Strikers up North.

We have a healthy roster of home games this weekend, so don’t forget to rug up in your Taroona FC gear and head out to Kelvedon to support our Pirates. The kiosk will be open, and we have brand new bumper stickers available for sale. Best of luck to all our teams this weekend!
