Our Men's Championship and Men's Championship 1 teams are both sitting in 5th place on their respective league's ladders with only 3 points between them and the top position, so while it's early days, it's undeniably been a great start to their 2022 season!

Last weekend saw a successful Saturday at Kelvedon, with our Men's Championship 1 team leading the charge against Hobart City Beachside F.C. when Henry Ralph nabbed himself a hat trick, and David Abbot added a goal to tally the final score 4-2. Our Men's Championship team then took to the park, with William Darling taking only 4 minutes to put the game's only goal in the beck of the opposition's net. They defeated the league's newcomers 1-0, and are now looking forward to taking on South East United this coming weekend.

Sunday's scoreboard was not as uplifting, however. Our Men's Championship 3 team suffered an unfortunate 1-3 loss against South Hobart at Darcy Street, with Kaspar Deane's first half goal not being quite enough to get his team the victory, and our Women's Championship 1 team had a narrow, 0-1 loss against Newtown Eagles.

Our Women's Championship game was certainly this weekend's biggest uphill battle, with many players unavailable and injured, however our Pirates' 'never say die' attitude shone through, even when there were only 8 bodies left standing by the end of the battle. Daisy Parsell is making a brilliant comeback this season, scoring a brace after an early South Hobart goal to put the team ahead. Unfortunately, the opposition put another two goals away before the half time whistle, and many more in the second half. Our Women's Championship team and WSL team now look to take on the Clarence Zebras at Wentworth this weekend, and are hoping for a better result.

Best of luck to all our teams this weekend!
