Our Men’s Championship 1 team kicked off the weekend’s matches at Wentworth Park on Friday night, but couldn’t nab a win. Later, our Men’s Championship Pirates played in a bit of a dicey start to the second half, with captain Fabian Natoli scoring an own goal in the 56th minute that put the home team ahead in score. Luckily, Sam James’ brace, Joel Terhell’s goal, and Fabian’s match-sealer in the 94th minute was enough to secure a victory which sees our guys remain at the top of the leaderboard.
Our WSL team came close to stealing points off our neighbouring Kingborough Lions, but were downed 0-1 in the second half. The game was competitive the whole way through, and our WSL Pirates now look forward to taking on Launceston United at Birch Ave.
Our Social Women’s L2 team also took part in a very close battle, with Aarzoo Tamang and Lucie Johnston contributing to the score board. Unfortunately the home team won the game 2-3.
Best of luck yo all our teams this weekend!
