Our Pirates had a few victories this week, starting with our Men’s Championship and Championship 1 teams pillaging our rival beach-side Hobart City FC for the spoils. Arlo Milne and Matt Chapman each scored early in the first half of the Champ 1 game, with the lads thinking they had secured the win. The final few minutes were tense, though, as the opposition scored in the 87th minute and gained a boost of wind in their sails. Some fine goalkeeping throughout the game by Ben McTaggart secured our Pirates the narrow win. The Men’s Championship game saw another tough battle, with a goalless first half. Ewan Sloan and Cooper Bain eventually made their way onto the score sheet, garnering the victory and keeping our lads’ 2 point ladder lead. This weekend sees the battle of the top two teams when South East United FC hosts our Pirates, so make sure you get on out and cheer our champions on this Saturday!

Our Women’s Social teams were both victorious on Sunday’s match ups, with the L1 team downing South Hobart FC 4-1 thanks to an early goal by Elisha Williams and an inspiring hat trick by Georgia Woodward. Georgia then backed up a busy morning by playing in the L2 game as well, scoring again! Aarzoo Tamang providing the first goal of the game ensured another close win over the Huon Valley SC. Well done to all our teams, we wish everyone the best of luck for the upcoming weekend.
