Under the Friday night lights, our Pirates took on the Olympia Warriors at Warrior Park. Visiting spectators were pleased to find that the kiosk was selling Banjo’s filled donuts for only $2. Bargain. The Men’s Championship game proved to be an epic victory which started with a bang when Tom Roberts blasted one away only 3 minutes into the game. The opposition equalised a short while later, but Arlo Milne came to the rescue - scoring a brace before half time. From there, it was one-way traffic in the second half, with Joel Terhell also scoring a brace, and Cameron Bailey (as well as an own goal) making the final score 7-1. Well done lads on a fantastic victory! Our Men’s Championship team looked like they would keep the momentum going, with a strong performance in the first half. They looked to dominate the play, and had majority of chances in front of goals but unfortunately they couldn’t find the back of the net. The game was unfortunately lost 0-3, and makes the Championship title more dependent on South East United’s next few game results. The senior Men’s Pirates are now focused on a tough couple of games against Hobart United FC this weekend.

Our WSL team also suffered an unfortunate loss against South Hobart FC when they attended Darcy Street. A resolute performance in the first half saw them down 0-1. They had a few chances to score but could not capitalise. Our WSL Pirates held their ground for the majority of the game, however a flurry of goals in the last 12 minutes of play brought the score to 0-4. Our U18 Girls had a much better result against South Hobart the next day, with a 4-1 victory. State representatives, Olivia Harnwell and Imogen Muller each scored only minutes into the game, with Jaden Goodey and Chloe Mongin also contributing to the win. Our Women’s Social L1 team also saw a victory over South Hobart FC, with Daisy Parsell and Georgia Woodward contributing to the 2-0 win.

Well done all, and best of luck to all our teams and players this weekend!
