SASS Charity Round

A big thanks to our Men's Championship team for driving awareness for Sexual Assault Awareness Month and their team's chosen charity sponsor SASS.

Our Men's Championship team sailed to victory at Kelvedon on Saturday, winning the game against the Clarence Zebras FC 5-0 (including an impressive tally of 4 goals from Luke Warrener).

Thank you to the Clarence Zebras FC for standing with us on match day and raising awareness for an important cause. The day was also special in that we were honouring an important member of our football community - Jack Fleming, brother of our Men's Champ 1 team member, Chris Fleming.

Chris scored an important penalty in the Champ 1 game before half time, blowing some much needed confidence into our Pirates' sails - and contributing to an important 3-1 win for the team. The teams wore purple arm bands to raise awareness for SAAM, and also wore black arm bands in memory of Jack, who passed away after a very difficult battle with brain cancer on 15th April 2018. The Clarence Zebras joined us in remembering the great player and person Jack was, and our hearts and toughts remain with Chris and his family during this time.
