Taroona FC Welcomes Home Adelyn Ayton as NewTechnical Director

Taroona FC is thrilled to announce the appointment of Adelyn Ayton as the club’s new Technical Director - a homecoming for one of Tasmania’s most accomplished football identities.

Adelyn brings with her a rich and diverse football career spanning both sides of Bass Strait. A product of the Tasmanian Institute of Sport and NTC programs, she went on to forge an impressive playing career in the Victorian WPL before returning to Tasmania to give back to the game she loves.

Her connection to Taroona FC runs deep. Adelyn previously served as Head Coach of the Taroona Skills Program, overseeing programs for players aged 4 to 16, as well as heading up the club’s U12 and U15 development squads. She also held the position of Participation Officer with Football Tasmania - a role that demonstrated her commitment to growing the game at a grassroots level.

Adelyn later returned to Melbourne, where she went on to make 35 appearances for Alamein FC in the NPL Victoria Women’s competition between 2021 and 2023 - competing at one of the highest levels of women’s football in the country. Alongside her playing commitments, she continued to grow as a coach, serving as Head Coach and Assistant Coach across NPLW junior and senior VPLW environments, including Head Coach of Alamein FC’s reserve VPLW side and their Under 13s and Under 15s NPL squads.

Now, Adelyn returns to Hobart and to Taroona FC, ready to take on her biggest role yet. As Technical Director, she will lead the club’s football philosophy, player development pathways, and coaching standards - drawing on a career that has taken her from grassroots participation to elite NPL competition.

“We are absolutely delighted to welcome Adelyn back to Taroona FC in this exciting new role. Adelyn is not just a familiar face here — she is someone who has lived and breathed football at every level, from our youngest players right through to elite competition in Victoria. Her experience as both a player and a coach, combined with her genuine passion for this club and Tasmanian football, makes her the perfect person to lead our technical programme. This is a fantastic appointment for Taroona FC, and we can’t wait to see what she brings to the role.”

— Sam Johnson, Club President, Taroona FC

Taroona FC looks forward to an exciting future under Adelyn’s technical leadership. Her appointment is a statement of intent from the club - and a wonderful story for Tasmanian football!
