YOUTH & SENIOR ACADEMY

Taroona FC are excited to launch the Youth & Senior Academy for Taroona Football Club.

"For the past few years we have successfully facilitated a Girls Academy, last year we had over 20 girls participating, and we believe that it is time now to open our Academy up to all youth players, male and female, and a Senior Academy." Head of Youth Development Holly-Lace Ayton shared.

For Youth, the club will continue to facilitate a Girls SKiLLS Program on Wednesday afternoons in addition to the Youth Academy on a Thursday and SKiLLS for everyone program on Monday and Wednesday.

"It is important we ensure everyone feels included at our club, and as data from documents like Her Sports Her Way shows us, it is also critical we continue to support girls only spaces, because we know that it creates a safe space for some girls who need that to participate in sport. That is why we will continue to facilitate a Girls SKiLLS Program on a Wednesday afternoon." Ayton shared.

The Youth and Senior Academy is for players who want to progress and push themselves.

Academy players receive individual player plans and on-field and off-field development, and train three times a week.

Ayton said "This will ensure there are pathways for high performance, development and social players at Taroona Football Club."

Academy players will be supported where possible and when ready, to take up further opportunities and the club will assist with support for trials for state teams & interstate trials or experiences.
