TFC SKiLLS TRAINING

About TFC SKiLLS TRAINING

 

TFC SKiLLS TRAINING programs are an enjoyable practice, play and perform program for mini, junior and youth footballers!
The program is for players aged 4 to 18 years old.
TFC SKiLLS TRAINING Programs offer a variety of sessions per week,

guided by Football Australia Accredited Taroona FC coaches. 

The sessions are open to interested footballers from any club or school with no requirement to play for TFC.  The programs are aligned with the Tasmanian school year.

The program offers sessions for the absolute beginner and sessions for a player striving for high performance and development programs.

All communication for sessions is via our Team App.

For any cancellation of sessions, change of grounds or updates from coordinators and coaches it is through Team App.

Our Sessions

miniSKiLLS for ages 4-8 

Introduction to football.

Fun activities that help kids master the ball and fall in love with the game.

Open to interested children from any school or Club.

 

Junior (SAP - Skills Acquisition Phase) for ages 9-12

Get some extra year-round training with our FFA-qualified coaches while still playing for your school/club team. 

Learn the core skills of football through fun, game-related activities. 

Our SAP program is accredited by Football Tasmania.

Open to players of all abilities, from any school or Club.

*For players who wish to be a part of future Taroona FC Football Tasmania SAP Festivals, they will be required to be registered TFC SKiLLS Training player.
 

Youth SKiLLS for ages 13-15

Focus on individual player skills while developing a greater tactical understanding of the game. These sessions are open to players of all abilities, from any school or club.

 

Youth Football Academy

For males and females wishing to pursue a Development or High Performance pathway. Academy players are expected to participate in a minimum three sessions per week. This includes x2 SKiLLS sessions and one Academy session.

Term 1 & 4 - players register via SKiLLS registrations

Term 2 & 3 - players are selected into winter season teams. Team training is part of winter season registration, players are then required to register for both Monday and Wednesday SKiLLS training sessions.

Goalkeeper SKiLLS

For players looking to develop and improve their goalkeeper skills. Junior & Youth sessions will kick off Term 2 at Kelvedon Park, for players aged 10 to 18 years. Coached by two of our Senior Men's goalkeepers - Isaac Scott & Tom Watson. If you are interested please register before Term 2, or email skills@taroonafc.org

Youth Tech+ 

Delivered in Term 4. Small group session for advanced players.

Designed to challenge and improve individuals technically and tactically.

Youth Tech+ by invitation or trial only. 

Cost

Cost is $100 per term for one session per week, payable at the start of each Term.

Cost covers facility hire, coach payment, admin & equipment.

Training Kit

All players are now required to wear the TFC SKiLLS Training Kit at every session. This assists with identifying our players, creating a sense of belonging, switch on to training mindset, prepared for friendly games etc. If you don't have a training kit, and want or need one, have a chat to one of the friendly coaches at the session or email our Program Manager at skills@taroonafc.org
