TFC SKiLLS TRAINING programs are an enjoyable practice, play and perform program for mini, junior and youth footballers!
The program is for players aged 5 to 18 years old.
TFC SKiLLS TRAINING Programs offer a variety of sessions per week,

guided by Football Australia Accredited Taroona FC coaches. 

The sessions are open to interested footballers from any club or school with no requirement to play for TFC.  The programs are aligned with the Tasmanian school year.

The program offers sessions for the absolute beginner and sessions for a player striving for high performance and development programs.

Our Sessions

miniSKiLLS for ages 4-8 

Introduction to football.

Fun activities that help kids master the ball and fall in love with the game.

Open to interested children from any school or Club.


Junior (SAP - Skills Acquisition Phase) for ages 9-12

Get some extra year-round training with our FFA-qualified coaches while still playing for your school/club team. 

Learn the core skills of football through fun, game-related activities. 

Our SAP program is accredited by Football Tasmania.

Open to players of all abilities, from any school or Club.

*For players who wish to be a part of future Taroona FC Football Tasmania SAP Festivals, they will be required to be registered TFC SKiLLS Training player.

Youth SKiLLS for ages 13-15

Focus on individual player skills while developing a greater tactical understanding of the game. These sessions are open to players of all abilities, from any school or club.

Advanced SKiLLS for ages 15-18

For players who have advanced with their technical ability. These sessions are on top of club team training. With a focus on individual player skills while developing a greater tactical understanding of the game.

*These sessions are offered in Term 1, 2 & 3. From this session and our SKiLLS programs, we identify players for our Term 4 Youth Tech+ Program.

Some more advanced players aged 14-15 years may be asked to participate.


Girls Football Academy for ages 12-15

For girls wishing to pursue a Development or High Performance pathway. Academy players are expected to participate in a minimum of two, and ideally three sessions per week. This includes x1 Girls Football Academy session and one or two other SKiLLS sessions.

Term 1 & 4 - players register via SKiLLS registrations

Term 2 & 3 - players are selected into winter season teams. Team training is part of winter season registration, players are then required to register for either/or both Monday or/and Wednesday SKiLLS training sessions.

Goalkeeper SKiLLS for ages 12 to 18

For players looking to develop and improve their goalkeeper skills. This will be delivered on demand. If you are interested please email skills@taroonafc.org

Youth Tech+ 

Delivered in Term 4. Small group session for advanced players.

Designed to challenge and improve individuals technically and tactically.

Youth Tech+ by invitation or trial only. 


Cost is $10 per sessions payable at the start of each Term.

Cost covers facility hire, coach payment, admin & equipment.

Training Kit

For the majority of our sessions it is the players choice if they would like to purchase and wear the TFC SKiLLS Training Kit. The training kit is only compulsory for our Girls Academy, Advanced, Tech+ and Development sessions/programs. If you don't have a training kit, and want or need one, have a chat to one of the friendly coaches at the session or email our Program Manager at skills@taroonafc.org

Our Program Manager

Our Program Manager oversees the programs and provides support, guidance and opportunities to the coaches and players within the TFC SKiLLS Training Program. 

Program Manager - Holly-Lace Ayton

Our Program Manager & Head of Youth Football, Holly-Lace Ayton, has had experience working as the Equipment Manager for Football Australia U17 National Women's team (Junior Matildas), is the former Women's Development Officer for Football Tasmania & Northern NSW Football, has experience with coaching Emerging Jets & Football Tasmania U13 Girls & Boys National teams.

Our Coaches

TFC SKiLLS TRAINING program has a holistic approach to football, with the aim to develop good players, good coaches and great people! Our coaches all have Football Australia coaching accreditations.
