U18 GIRLS COACHING ANNOUNCEMENT

The club is excited to announce Maddy Lane & Holly-Lace Ayton as the U18 Girls Coaches for 2024. This team will underpin the Senior Women's Super League side.

The club has dedicated a lot of time over the years to providing development opportunities for girls and women, and believes this is the next step to ensuring that young females in Hobart are provided with a pathway to the Women's Super League and further footballing opportunities.

Co-Coach Holly-Lace Ayton is looking forward to the season ahead coaching the team alongside Maddy Lane.

"This is our 10th year of the SKiLLS Training Program, many of the players who will be playing in the team have spent time in the program developing their skills and knowledge of the game. We are also excited to attract new players to the club who are focused and dedicated to playing at the top level in Tasmania, Interstate and then overseas in the future.

It is now realistic that young girls can dream of becoming professional footballers, we look forward to supporting a part of their journey for them at Taroona FC, or alternatively helping create local talent for our Women's Super League.

On Thursday and Friday we are hosting Academy Clinics, and look forward to selecting some players from that and to then welcome players to our trials in a few weeks.

Development is important for this age group, and too often in Tasmania we are pushing young girls up to senior football when they are not ready. This provides that stepping stone for players in Tasmania." Holly-Lace shared.

Co-Coach Maddy Lane shares "I'm excited to coach the u18s this year as I'm keen to help introduce them into senior football and see them improve and develop in a higher intensity environment. 

I hope the team can learn to play as a strong unit and players can develop and have opportunities to play senior football."
